1. How long have you served on the Minnehaha County Commission?
As of 2006, I am in my 5th term (18th year)
2. When were you first elected?
Elected in 1988, sworn in January of 1989.
3. Where were you born and raised?
Born in hospital in Sleepy Eye Minnesota, raised on a farm in Leavenworth Township in Brown County Minnesota.
4. What kinds of schooling have you received?
Proud Graduate of Sleepy Eye Minnesota Public High School in 1960. Earned his Bachlors at Westmon College in LeMars, Iowa for Double Major, Education and Biology in 1965. Worked for his Masters at USD in Vermillion, South Dakota in Natural Science Major area Zoology, Minor area Geology 1969.
5. Besides being on the Minnehaha County Commission, what is your current job?
Owner of antique, book, clock and repair shop established in 1972.
6. What boards have you served on?
State Historical Society (Trustee) Board, Nordland Fest Board, most everything related to the County as liason. Most every position on local church board. State Council of Minnistries, United Methodist Church. Minnehah County Historical Society.
7. What do you see for the future of Minnehaha County?
Water resources - needs and treatment
Urban/Rural (ag) Planning and Zoning conflicts
Upgrade of county government and commission to deal with population increase and responsibility of individuals responsibility
Need for dedicated funding to support county government
