In 1917, America went to war in Europe against a foe that had been fighting since 1914. The German Army was just as well equipped as the Americans and sought the same advantages in this new age of modern warfare. The German soldier was as passionate about his cause as the Allies, and innovations in tactics, weapons, and materials changed the face of how war would be waged in the future.
Join David Rambow on November 19th at 2:00 pm at the Old Courthouse Museum to hear the perspective of the German solider during WWI. David is a WWI reenactor and will be outfitted to show you the arms and equipment a German WWI soldier would have been issued for battle. He will also discuss why the German soldier fought and how the lessons learned during WWI changed how future wars would be fought.
