Upper Missouri Region The Hoof and Pin game is fashioned from deer foot bones and the skewer from a bison rib. To play, the skewer is held in one hand and the other hand holds the bones against the throwing elbow. Next the bones are released with a thrust of the skewer as the player attempts to catch the first bone. Catching the center of a bone is five points or ten points for a side hole. If the first bone is missed, the other team gets a try. If the bone is caught, the next bones are caught in sequence until all bones have been caught. |
