Rosemaling Demonstrations at the Old Courthouse Museum

Learn the Norwegian art of Rosemaling (or decorative painting) by watching Eileen Halverson demonstrate at the Old Courthouse Museum on September 15th and October 20th from 1-4 p.m. Stop in any time during the demonstration to observe or ask questions.

Throughout the upper-Midwest, Norwegian immigrants brought this style of painting with them as a decoration on trunks and household items. The colors are bold, designs elaborate, and items became true works of art.
