See Woodlawn Cemetery as you have never seen it before on a lantern light tour into Sioux Falls’ history! During your tour you will meet some of the most interesting characters of Sioux Falls’ past as local actors bring their colorful stories to life. Learn about a prominent banking family, a former soldier, members of the printing industry, and an escape from the penitentiary!
The tour will take place on the paved paths inside Woodlawn Cemetery, last about 50-60 minutes, and cover between half and three-quarters of a mile. The tour will go forward in nearly any weather, so please plan to dress appropriately for late October at night.
The tours will take place on October 22nd, 23rd and 24th, with starting times at 6:30, 6:50, 7:10, 7:30, and 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, and an additional 8:10 p.m. tour on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $10 and will go on sale at the Old Courthouse Museum on Sept. 5th for Museums Alliance members and Sept. 12th for the general public. A limited number of tickets will be available for each tour. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
