The Irene Hall Museum Resource Center will officially open for business on Thursday, November 8th, with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. and open house until 7 p.m. The reception will be an opportunity to tour the new facility and look at the offices, work rooms, and artifact storage areas. Over the past few months, museum staff and volunteers have been moving the artifact collection that is not on exhibit at the Old Courthouse Museum and Pettigrew Home & Museum to be stored at the Museum Resource Center. In addition to artifact storage, the Museum Resource Center will be used for: research requests pertaining to museum archives and artifacts, photo requests, historical programming, and workshops detailing conservation and preservation techniques. The facility will be open Tuesday-Friday 1-5 p.m. or by appointment.
